Hello Friends,
We all need to be neighbors right now (just don’t come with 6 feet of one another😊).
Today, as a parent and business owner, I am reaching out to the community for help to ensure our kids have a prom. Right now, the main obstacle is the narrative that “prom is cancelled,” but it doesn’t have to be. Our schools may have let us down by cancelling instead of postponing, but our community and my industry can change that. Of course, the priority right now needs to be following advice of doctors to practice social distancing and make sure our communities are healthy. However, after the necessary delays related to public health concerns, we will all be anxious to get back to normal. One of the ways we can do that is to acknowledge some of the important events our kids missed out on that are so important to them. We cannot bring back everything they missed out on, but we can give them a prom.

If we can come together and get groups of parents to work together, we can accomplish our goal of making sure all kids who missed their prom can have a prom this year. We may need to make some changes to keep costs lower, maybe bring proms back to the school gyms, maybe break down in a few mini proms instead of one big one as parents decide to host in their homes, or have it when school is out and have it during the week, so we can get the venue cheaper.
Our kids deserve now more than ever to have this special event with their friends, to make these wonderful memories, to put this epidemic behind them and give them hope.
